Another year, another successful INFOCUS conference in the books!
This year’s event in Tempe, Arizona, truly lived up to our theme of “Meeting Today’s Challenges” as we gathered with record numbers of clients and partners to collaborate on solutions for navigating the industry’s hypercomplex operating environment.
As our president and COO Javier Martin highlights in his LinkedIn post, the positive energy and productive exchange of insights at INFOCUS 2024 has us feeling reinvigorated about conquering the obstacles ahead together with our clients.
Connectedness in action
While the sessions, demos, and networking fueled new ideas, some of the most powerful moments came through the simple act of connecting face to face.
Those moments that brought us all together in networking and fun punctuated the week: the Sunday-afternoon golf scramble; drinks & demos; an evening of comfort food, corn hole, foosball, shuffleboard, and ping pong at the Culinary Dropout; and a customer appreciation dinner that featured a murder mystery event. (Don’t worry — we all made it out alive.)
And sometimes, the true impact of connection becomes clear in a single powerful moment. As our founder Fred Lee shared in an after-event email to staff:
“I left a conversation and walked up to one of our sales leaders to say good morning. A customer approached to say goodbye before an early flight. And by the way, he told us, we’ve decided to move forward with PCI on an upcoming project.”
Fred adds, “Hearing that rapid feedback was a testament to the positive experience and personalized engagement our customers feel at INFOCUS — our culture of connectedness permeating through.”
Clients repeatedly emphasized how crucial these face-to-face connections are. James Dykes from Avista put it this way:
“When choosing PCI, my VPs encouraged me to be trustworthy, innovative, and collaborative,” he said. “That, for me, is something I look for in a partnership. And that’s ultimately what we have with PCI — a partnership between individuals, a relationship between the people who show up when things happen.”
Those connections extended beyond just clients as we welcomed representatives from local utilities Arizona Public Service and Salt River Project. Their participation as local ambassadors added great perspective.
The journey continues
As the dust settles, our team will spend intentional time reviewing all the feedback and insights gained at INFOCUS. We’re committed to our core value of continuous improvement to enhance next year’s experience.
But the collaboration doesn’t stop there. We invite you to stay connected with us year-round through our Energy Essentials newsletter, webinars, and other touchpoints. The energy transition journey is a team effort!
We can’t wait to build on the momentum and reunion with our extended community at INFOCUS 2025. Thank you again to everyone who joined us in making this year so special.
